As I am writing this post, the country is currently in quarantine. So I have a few ways every day to take myself to my happy place during this time and one of them is tea time! I absolutely love tea, all teas. But every morning I make myself a matcha latte. It's delicious, it gives me the energy I need to start my day and it is super nutritious. Matcha tea is a green powdered tea that is a concentrated form of green tea. Because matcha contains tea from the entire tea leaf, 1 cup of matcha is equivalent to about 10 cups of green tea. Filled with over 130x the antioxidants and catechins, its basically the kryptonite to free radicals(which cause cell damaged lead to disease) it improves brain and liver function and doesn't give you the crash that caffeine normally provides. There are a list of benefits and a little goes a long way. 1 teaspoon is all you need! although any matcha is beneficial, they aren't all created equal. Look for a ceremonial and organic grade of matcha when shopping around. I make my latte with
1 teaspoon ceremonial grade matcha powder
1 (or 2) packet of trivia (stevia)
1 cup of 1/2 coconut milk 1/2 almond or oat milk
